Do Not Hibernate

Christmas has come and gone and the new year has arrived. Yet, for many of us, “the weather outside is (still) frightful.” What do we do with ourselves during these next few months of cold weather, snow, and rain?

For small businesses like ours, that rely strongly on craft shows, our tendencies are typically to shrink back and slow down in our work. However, as a business, we have given ourselves the motto: “do not hibernate.” We may not have any shows driving us to make products, but that has never been our ultimate motivation.

We named our business FGG Designs over eight years ago now because we never wanted to lose sight of what is truly important: for God to receive all the glory. So, for us, show or no show, we will still be working throughout this winter with the aim of glorifying the Lord with the gifts and talents He has given us.

The truth we just celebrated at Christmas of the birth of the Lord Jesus, isn’t just something to reflect on and celebrate one day a year, it is a timeless truth to be marveled over all year long. The greatest gift we could ever receive was given to us 2000 years ago. The perfect, and spotless, Son of God became man so He could pay the debt we owed to God for our sin. The way for restoration to God has been opened wide for all who are willing to accept the free gift of God in the Gospel.

It is our hope, our desire, and our prayer that during these cold winter months, you will find rest and comfort in the Lord. Through faith in Him, you too, can do all things for God’s glory.
