March Meet The Maker 2025 – Week Two

Week two of the March Meet The Maker challenge hosted by Joanne Hawker.

Day Four – “Decision”

Every year we are faced with many decisions: which shows should we do? What new products should we make? What colors should we use? The list goes on.

This year, we had an incredible opportunity presented to us that required a decision: wholesale. We are a very small business, with limited time, and wholesale would add more to our workload. Yet, it would also provide income during months we wouldn’t have any shows. So, what was our decision? We’re giving it a try! You can find some of our products in Susan’s booth at the WildHorseMercantile in Plains. We’ll see how the Lord continues to work through our business, but we’re excited for how it’s developing so far!

Day Five – “Colour”

We love colors around here, and, over the years, we have learned that just because we don’t think a color is going to do well for a certain product, doesn’t mean it won’t sell. In fact, most of the time those are the colors that surprise us and end up selling the best. We have also started learning the colors that seem to be most popular, and then strive to have those available in our products. The picture shows all our available Scrub-Bee colors. Our best sellers are “Cherry” (bright red) and “Green Tea” (muted, rustic green).

As a business we have chosen a deep purple and rustic orange as our brand colors. The purple, royal, as we think of doing all for the glory of the King of kings. Orange, rustic, for our farmhouse style.

Day Six – “Tools & Materials”

As you may know, our business has three active artisans, each specializing in different arts. With different arts, come different tools and materials. Our main materials are yarn, wood (which we source locally), and paper. We always strive to find high quality materials in order to give you the best quality products. And right along with high quality materials are our tools. Yes, you can use any tools you have to make certain arts work, but it sure makes a difference when you also have good quality tools. As you, our customers, have supported us over the years, it has allowed us to get better tools, and in turn, we’re able to provide you with even better quality products. (So, thank you!)
