The last six years have been the best years of my life. Surrounded by God’s beauty of mountains and wildflowers, rivers and wildlife and, of course, my favorite people. They have loved me so well!

I was rescued from an abusive home and was very skittish and afraid of men with baseball caps, I just didn’t trust them; but my favorite people helped me to get over that fear by loving me and treating me well.
We went on many adventures and eventually they realized that I was starting to slow down, so they provided me with two playmates. Sally and Lacey joined the family three years ago but I wasn’t too sure about them at first. They were so small and hyper, bounding around my feet and getting in my way. Thankfully, I didn’t have to deal too much with Lacey, but Sally ended up staying in MY ROOM! I had to learn to share – phew, that was hard. She did make me get my daily exercise in, which my favorite people were quite happy about. We ran and played and … got into trouble, only just a few times, and Sally started it…sometimes.
Sally helped me perk up a little and get a second wind. But lately, I wasn’t getting much better. I continued to get slower and, at almost 84-(human)-years-old, things were not like they used to be. The pain was getting to be too much, so I decided that it was time to hand over the responsibilities. From now on, Sally and Lacey will be in charge of guarding and protecting the home.
Sally and Lacey,
Your playmate,
I hand over the reigns to you. Treat my favorite people well. They will love you and care for you and make sure you have a good home. Protect them, play with them, love them, cuddle them. Especially those three little people. They may pull your tail or not like your nose in their faces, but if you look them in the eyes with those “puppy” eyes I taught you, they might give you a treat or throw you the ball. Thank you for giving me space to adjust to you two being around and giving me some energy these past few years. I’ll miss you Sally, and I guess you too, Lacey.
Olive
I’ve had a good run and I am thankful for the life I had and that I was loved so well by my favorite people.
Over and out,
Olive
