Week three of the March Meet The Maker challenge hosted by Joanne Hawker.
Day Seven – “Aim”

Since God’s glory is our religious convictions and the name of our business, it is our sole aim to bring Him glory in all things. This truth flows throughout the making and selling of our products. We desire to put our best work on the table (quite literally as the majority of our stuff is sold from the table at craft shows). If any of our products are in any way deficient, we will either discard them, keep them for ourselves, or sell them at a significantly discounted price and state the reasons why.
It also flows through the way we interact with our customers, as we seek to hear from them about how to improve our products, make custom products to fit their needs, and deal with them in a way that is above reproach and fair.
Finally, the desire for God’s glory also flows into how we use the money we receive from sales. We seek to use what we are blessed with to bless the church through offerings, and to put back into the business to buy better tools, equipment, and supplies to hopefully make better products for our customers.
Day Eight – “Detail or Variant”

When you look closely at any one of our products, you can notice the details that go into the creation of them. Whether it is a crocheted item, a watercolor card, or a wooden spoon, all of our items are entirely made by hand using traditional tools and methods. Although some of our products are more or less identical (like our Scrub-bees), the vast majority of what we make is one of a kind. The shape, the color of the paint, the type of stitch, or the grain in the wood, all allow for there to be variety and uniqueness to what we make.
We like to finish our products by including our brand. You’ll can find it either burned, stamped, or attached with a tag on all our work.
Day Nine – “Workspace”
Being a handmade, family business that works from home, almost anything in our home can become a workspace for us. Sure, we have desks that we can work at, but often the ladies of FGG will be crocheting in the car, in bed, at the table, or anywhere else they find themselves with empty hands. Shaun may be down in the basement at his axe block chopping away or carving, or he may even be upstairs sitting on a sheet to collect the woodchips. Our best office and workspace, however, is probably outside during the warmer and clearer days. Living in Montana, there is no greater place to be than outside, and we thank God for every day that we get to live and work in this beautiful place.
